5 SIMPLE WAYS TO CREATE MORE WARDROBE SPACE

I walked into this client’s home few weeks ago and I was really shocked at the size of her wardrobe, geez!!! It was so miniature. I had to console myself because before then, I had always thought my closet was ridiculously tiny.

She said and I quote “My dear, don’t mind the landlord oh, I still don’t know what he was thinking when he built this house (long sigh), can’t wait to move into a better space”. I just encouraged her by stating the fact that insufficiency of space is a global challenge and people are learning to deal with it.

Because we are very space-starved in this age, it is therefore, important that we really understand how to make the most of the small spaces we find ourselves in. As a PO my purpose is to help people improve the quality of their lives and the truth is, no matter the situation, anyone can have an amazing life only if they make the right choices.

For the busy mom, the career-minded guy, the business-driven lady, students, even young children and just about anyone, there is need for a functional wardrobe, one that allows you dress your best without stress and just in time.

5 simple ways to achieve that

  1. Maximize your wardrobe space. Use-up sufficient wall space rather than floor space. Instead of leaving things on the floor of your room or wardrobe, raise the items you use less frequently up and place them towards the ceiling.
  2. Restructure your wardrobe. If your wardrobe has just one hanging rod, get a cabinet maker to fix in more hanging rods. He can also include shelves and/or drawers.
  3. Use organising accessories. The most common ones are hangers, but there are more that can help you achieve an organized wardrobe. Accessories like the jewelry organizers, the scarf hangers, the under-wears/stocks organizers, tie-racks, baskets etc are space friendly and easy to use.
  4. Keep it simple! Simplicity is very important when seeking order. Discard/donate clothes that don’t serve you anymore. Keep only the things you use and love!
  5. Maintain order. After organizing your wardrobe, please don’t relapse to your old ways. Keep-up your new lifestyle. Whenever you are going to shop, use this organizing principle “One in, one out”. If you buy a new shirt, make sure to take out one old one, give it away if it’s still valuable.
